We are starting our way home today. We spent the night at another bed & breakfast, this one is called Flowers & Thyme. We stayed in the Garden Room. It is a very nice place and the owners are friendly. Breakfast was really good, french toast. Unfortunately it’s a weekday so there aren’t any other guests here. I kind of miss the friendly conversation with fellow travelers that we had at the first stop. We’ll have to time things better next time.

Before hitting the road for home we are going to make a stop at the local farmer’s market in Bird in Hand.

See you all when we get home!

Today begins the trip home. Just didn’t feel like enough time here. I would really like to stay for another week. There is a lot to explore in Virginia Beach and we certainly didn’t cover it all in 3 days.

We did get to the Virginia Beach Aquarium. That is a really nice place. Tanks full of sea turtles and sharks and lots of other stuff. Here are some pictures.

We also got to take a walk on the boardwalk. It was nice, but a little boring. I would have prefered to bike it. unfortunately, the last full day here had rain so we didn’t get to do much biking. Next time we should plan the indoor activities on the rainy day!

We have finally reached Virginia Beach!. The trip over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel was really cool. There was some sort of extremely fast military transport out on the water betweenthe tunnels.

We arived at the campground around 5:00 pm, with a nice balmy 80 degrees and a breeze. First thing I noticed about the place was the loud noise that was constantly passing over head. Turns out the Naval Air Station Oceana is right next door and they are continually flying to train new pilots. Now, most people would think this is too much noise, but seeing these F-14 and F-18 fighter planes fly right over my head is just too cool. I got plenty of pictures. I think Karlyn is wondering if she is going to loose her new husband to the skies for the duration!

We are about to leave from our first destination on the Honeymoon tour. Last night we stayed in the O’Flaherty’s Dingeldein House Bed & Breakfast. I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before and I found the experience to be good, much better than a hotel.

We got in a little late the night before, around 7:30 pm (we left a little later than planned yesterday). The owners were not there at the time but they left us a phone to call them so they could tell us where the hidden key was. That was very nice of them.

The room we stayed in is called the Princess Room. I will post a few pictures of it here later when I have a chance to edit our photos.

The breakfast was superb, and the conversations with the other guests stimulating. I hope our next B&B is as pleasant.

I’ve been away from this blog for some time now. Been a very crazy month trying to get all the preparations done for the wedding. And now we have arrived, the wedding day is here.

The day went very well, and very fast. I was over before I knew it. Seems like everyone had a good time. It was glad to see friends and co-workers there.

Very tiring day however, and I think it’s time to retire to the waiting jacuzzi. I will post more later…
